Private First Class Donald Alfred Danaher studied economics while at the university. He was also a member of Kappa Sigma.

Danaher was drafted and entered the US Army on July 29, 1941, at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He completed his training and was assigned to the 47th Infantry Regiment of the 9th Infantry Division.

The 47th fought through the North-African Campaign and on March 28, 1943, found itself poised to attack Hill 369 in Tunisia. The 47th faced stiff Axis resistance and Private First Class Danaher was killed in action when he was struck by shrapnel from an artillery blast. Hill 369 was captured by the 1st Infantry Division on April 3, 1943.

Private First Class Donald Alfred Danaher is interred at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, Wisconsin.
