Corporal Donald Edward Anderson was born the son of John and Martha Anderson in Ashland, Wisconsin, on April 9, 1930. At the age of 19, Anderson joined the US Army. When the Korean War broke out, he was assigned to Company L, 5th Regimental Combat Team, 24th Infantry Division He attained the rank of Corporal and was killed in action on March 7, 1951, near Yangpyeong in present-day South Korea. He is buried at Mount Hope Cemetery in Ashland, Wisconsin.
