Captain McIlhattan studied Zoology while at the university. He was on the Rifle and Pistol Team, participated in the House Presidents’ Council Rifle Team, the Basic Drill Team, the Advanced Corp, and Scabbard and Blade.
Captain McIlhattan enlisted with the Southwest Pacific Theatre, Philippine Islands.
He was being held prisoner aboard a Japanese ship. He was shot while attempting to escape the sinking ship.
