More About Second Lieutenant Loehndorf

Warren was listed as Missing in Action until a year after his death, when his remains were found. He was a pilot of a B17 when it was hit by flack while bombing German oil fields. As the plane was on fire, he urged his crew to get out of the plane. Some got out before the plane exploded. The men that survived told the story of of his heroism.
