More About Aviation Cadet Bohlman

Bohlman enlisted in the Air Corps Reserve on June 19, 1942. He was called to active duty on March 16 while finishing up his senior year at UW-Madison. He became an aviation cadet and was sent to San Marcos Army Airfield in Texas. He was assigned to the 89th Navigation Training Group and was undergoing navigational training when he was killed on Oct. 20, 1943. He was killed in an airplane crash seven miles north of Wimberly, Texas, which killed all on board. Bohlman is buried alongside the men he was flying with at the time of his death; 2Lt Stewart L. Gibson, 2nd Lt Roy L. Ekelund, AC Harry E. Bonifield, and AC Eugene E. Bolger.
