More About Private Andersen

Private Frederick Arthur Anderson enlisted into the US Army Air Forces on July 15, 1941, in Wausau, Wis. He was reportedly transferred to the 381st Infantry Regiment, 96th Infantry Division. It was with the 381st Infantry Regiment that Private Andersen would sadly be killed in action on Oct. 29, 1944. It is likely he was killed at Leyte, given the 96th entered combat there on the 20th of October and fought there for the next few weeks. Andersen is buried at the Manila American Cemetery in Manila, Philippines.
