More About Sergeant Anderson

Sergeant Anderson enlisted in the Union Army on Aug. 19, 1862. His first assignment was to Company F of the 1st Wisconsin Infantry Regiment. He later joined Company B of the 22nd Wisconsin Infantry Regiment, nicknamed the "Abolition Regiment." During fighting at Thompson's Station in Tennessee, he was shot in the right leg. This wound occurred on the March 5, 1863, and he passed away from the wound on March 28, 1863.
