More About Private First Class Eicke
Private First Class Eicke graduated from Brown University in 1915. While there he was a member of the Sock and Buskin Society and was considered a student of high standing, especially in modern languages. During his junior year there, he also served as the Vice President of the Cercle Français. He later attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison as a post-graduate.
He enlisted in July, 1917 and received part of his training at Boxford, MA.
After being sent overseas, he was killed by a German sniper while shelling an enemy ammunition train near the Belgian border.
