More About Captain Quam

Mark's love for flying began early in his life. He worked hard and even earned his pilot's license before he got his drivers license. He wanted to attend the Air Force Academy. While he was unable to do so, he accepted an Air Force ROTC Scholarship to University of Wisconsin-Madison and graduated with a degree in astrophysics. Mark loved the UW-Madison and his time at the university as a student. In addition to his love for flying, he loved gaming, including Dungeons & Dragons. Another interest of Mark's was dancing with a Scottish dancing group while at UW-Madison. The group performed on weekends at King Richard's Faire. It was at the Faire that he met his wife Anna. Mark also loved serving his country in the military. He served as an electronic warfare officer. Capt. Quam was killed in an aircraft crash while supporting U.S. troops in Mogadishu.
