More About Captain Eaton

While overseas, Captain Eaton captured large numbers of prisoners and ammunition.

He was killed in action at Thiaucourt, France, he was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for heroism at Vaux.

Major Charles B. Elliott of the 23rd Infantry called him fearless, a born solider and a leader of men. He also said that Captain Eaton was held in affectionate regard by all in his infantry.
