More About Second Lieutenant Skuldt
Second Lieutenant Skuldt received his training at Santa Ana and Mathers Field, CA, and Langley Field, VA. He received his wings in September, 1943, and went overseas on December 7, 1943. He served in the European Theatre and was the Lead Navigator of the Left Wing.
2d Lt. Skuldt was killed in action on a mission over Graz, Austria when when he and his crew had to crash land after engine trouble at Termiten, Deutschlandsberg, Austria. His body, along with nine other crewmen, was buried by the village priest in a churchyard but he was later interred in Grafton National Cemetery near Grafton, WV.
