Second Lieutenant Ramaker, Jr. was killed when B-29 Serial number 42-24605 (nicknamed "The Heats On") ditched in the Pacific Ocean after attacking aircraft factories in Tokyo. He is now memorialized at Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was award the Air Medal and Purple Heart.
