More About Second Lieutenant Prees

Second Lieutenant Prees enlisted the same year he graduated from UW-Madison. He began in the medical corps and then transferred to the air corps. He was the co-pilot of B-17G, when it was shot down by a German fighter over sea and was reported missing on Sept. 15, 1943. He was declare dead after being missing in action for 13 months. He is memorialized at Tablets of the Missing, Cambridge American Cemetery in Cambridge, England. He was awarded the Air Medal with two Oak Leaf clusters.
