More About Captain Mathison
Captain Mathison enlisted in the Army Air Corps 26 Nov 1940 in Milwaukee prior to the war. It was noted upon his enlistment that he was employed in the manufacture of automobiles. He served as a Captain and Co-Pilot on B-24 "Jukebox Jenny."
Capt. Mathison was killed In action while on a mission to Osnabruck, Germany when his B-24 was hit on the #3 engine causing the plane to crash. Eight members of the crew were killed and two bailed out and became POW.
