During his time at the university, Lieutenant Luedke studied Journalism and was on the Cardinal staff his sophomore and junior years. He was a member of Sigma Delta Chi and Sigma Nu and participated in the band, tennis, and served on the Dormitory Cabinet during his senior year served as the Public Relations Chairman.
Lieutenant Luedke enlisted 28 Mar. 1942.
He died on October 12 at a hospital in Utah after being shot on October 4 while on night maneuvers.
