First Lieutenant Glaessner studied chemistry at UW-Madison. His thesis is entitled, “Titration Reactions of Permanganate in Alkaline solution”.

1st Lt. Glaessner enlisted 08 October 1941 and was the navigator of a B-24D (#41-11912) with the 10th Air Force.

He is memorialized on the Tablets of the Missing at the Manila American Cemetery in Manila, Philippines.

He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Flying Cross.
