More About Lieutenant MacNish

Lieutenant MacNish was sent overseas in December, 1917, and had applied to be transferred to the front just before his death. Lieutenant MacNish, one of his superior officers claimed, he was “one of the best bayonet instructors in the army.”

He died at an American base hospital from a cerebral hemorrhage caused by an accident with a bayonet while he was instructing. He is buried at Suresnes American Cemetery.
