First Lieutenant Richard P. Stier died at age 24 when he was killed in an airplane crash in Mindoro. He was survived by his wife Geraldine and their children Mary Beth and Katherine. He attended high school in Wauwatosa and went on to UW-Madison. He was employed by Allis-Chamber before entering service in August 1942. He served as a pilot instructor in California before going overseas in 1944.
