Lieutenant Donald George Brigham was hit by another plane in his squadron while he was piloting a T-28 in trail formation out of Williams Air Force Base, Ariz. His plane crashed in the foothills of the McDowell Mountains, now called Rio Verde, Ariz. Lieutenant Brigham attended UW-Madison from fall 1948 to spring 1952 and obtained a bachelor of science degree with a major in mechanical engineering.
